Plot

Bombay was in the hands of gangsters. The ones who have sound finance had the capability to rule the city and cops are used by them. Amartya Rao was a youngster, who lived with his family in Bombay. When his younger brother, Arjun, got stuck in the hands of gangsters and was about to die, Amartya turned vigorous. He had to cross the cops who are under the control of the gangsters, politicians and many betrayers. What happened to him and his brother? Who are all traveled with him? The rest of the story deals with all these.

Star Performance

John Abraham is fantastic with his performances. Although he slips in certain scenes, his performance is overall good. Suniel Shetty had given a neat performance in his limited screen presence. Emraan Hashmi did a wonderful job. Kajal Aggarwal and Anjana Sukhani are present in the film and they don’t have much to do. Yet, they did what is required for their roles. The rest of the stars did their part as asked.

Analysis

The film is set in the nineties. The production designing is neat and the art director has done his best. The characters are designed well, yet some are not stronger. The screenplay is super racy and the dialogues are strong and at times, dramatic too. The artists are properly placed and hence they deliver well and the characters get the right impact. The film has many twists and turns and makes the audience glued to their seats. Yet, the second half has some complications. With the perfect artists, the script sets well and impresses. The BGM gels well with the story and the cinematography is fantastic too.

What’s There?

  • Story, screenplay and execution are good
  • The performances of the leads are perfect

What’s Not There?

  • The second half could have been better

Verdict

With a quick-paced screenplay, performances of the stars and the BGM that gelled well with the story, Mumbai Saga attracts the audiences. It is watchable once!
