Housefull 3, which is the latest offering in the Housefull series that kept the cash registers ringing, has been in the news for a long a long time and finally it has been released. With its ensemble cast and hype about comedy, one should see whether the movie has really lived up to its expectations. Well, let’s see what Housefull 3 offers for us.

Star Performances

Last seen in Airlift in a serious makeover, Akshay Kumar is one actor who knows to maintain a balance between different genres of film. Akshay Kumar’s eccentricities, comic timing, and witty actions act as a great solace. Riteish Deshmukh is no doubt a talented artist and he has done a great job in comedy, which is his forte. But owing to his weak characterization, he also cannot save the film from rising above average. Abhishek is just ok in his role. All the three ladies look pretty, and one wonders whether that is enough to elevate the film. Boman Irani pulls off his character with ease and proves that why he is such an accomplished comedian.

Analysis

Housefull 3, directed by Farhad-Sajid, is the first outright comedy entertainer of 2016 and in that sense the hopes are high. The film banks heavily upon one-liners and witty comedy. The dialogues are eccentric and remind one of the earlier movies in the series. Also, one is familiar with certain scenes which bring to mind WhatsApp messages.

What’s there?

The comic drama and the way in which it unravels makes the audience sit in their seats patiently.
The locales are strikingly beautiful.
The first half has some light moments.

What’s not there?

The plot is very weak.
There are certain scenes which are forced enough to show that the filmmakers’ aim is to just tickle your funny bones at any cost.
The second half fails to create the anticipated comedy.
There is nothing much to say about the technicalities.

Verdict

If you are all for the type of comedy that the series of Housefull offers then watch the film. And also for Akshay Kumar’s good comic timing.
