He also has a sister. He is the elder brother to Zain Asher, a CNN correspondent. When Chiwetel was 11, his father died in a car accident while he was badly injured. The scars he received in the accident can still be seen on his forehead. Chiwetel went to Dulwich College when he was fourteen. He joined the National Youth Theatre. He was an active member of the group. After leaving Dulwich College, he came in London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
