Rasigapriya Sunderasan is a well-known singer from the Tamil entertainment industry. Her mother is Nagalaxshmi Sunderasan, a talented singer, and her father is Mr Sunderasan, an astrologer. Her birth place is Thirukadayur, Mayavaram District, Tamil Nadu. Her children are S Saranya and S Sabarish. Her husband is G. Subramanian. She got various gurus in her journey of music. Starting with her mother, learned music at Thanjavur from Thanjavur Rama Iyer at his Thyagaraya Gurukulam. Madava Pillai taught her Veena. She also learned Veena from Thanjavur Kalyana Krishna Bagavather, a legendary Veena Player and musician. Later, she shifted with her family to Chennai and learned Veena and music from Mr. K.P. Sivanandam and Mrs. Sarada Sivanandam.

She worked with Tamil Isai Kalluri Raja Annamalai Mandram for ten years. She was also an Administration Music Library, the tutor of Musicology lecturer for Veena, and an organizer in the Tamil Isai Sangam competition. From Central College of Music, she got  Sangeetha Vidvaan and Isai Kalaimamani. She also earned a diploma in music teaching and pedagogy. She also holds a Bachelor's Degree in commerce from Madras University. She also worked as a teacher for ten years in Saraswathi Vidyalaya and Narayana Mission Higher Secondary School.

In 1983, she started her school, Rasigapriya School of Music, with three students, and within a year, her students became 100, so she had to leave her other job. The school has crossed over 27 years of music. Her students have won various prizes and awards and performed in cultural organizations like the Fine Arts Society, Lions Clubs, Mylapore Fine Arts, Probsdede awards, All India Radio, and Podhigai (Arumbugal Arangam, Mazhalai Amudham, Buds & Blossoms, Siruvar Solai, Science Snippets, Siruvar Poonga, and several other programs.

Her students also passed lower and higher-level exams conducted by the Tamil Nadu Government. One of her students, V. Sree Chitra, has given over 60 performances in different Shabahas in Chennai. She is immensely thankful to her husband, G. Subramanian, for supporting her all along the progress of the school. Some of the new foundations of her school are Aalaya Dharisanam, Devi Darishanam, Vinayaka Puranam, Bala Charithiram, Kalaiyum Kalacharamum, Navarathri Oru Munnotam and Kannottam, and 25th Year Celebration of Thyagaraya Aradhana Festival. Her students also took part in Iyappa Baktha Sarnajam. Iynavaram Villaku Poojai.
