He completed his schooling from Vidya Mandir, Mylapore. During his childhood, he travelled across Delhi and Chennai frequently. He graduated from Loyola College, Chennai with a Professional Graduate Degree in Visual Communication. He had a strong background in the film industry. His father, S Krishnan was one of the finest producers in the television industry. He was the first to produce a T.V. Series, Adade Manohar Adade Manohar was aired on Doordarshan. Motivated by his father’s assets and work he decided to follow his footsteps. Today he has a promising career in the films and television medium. Arvind worked as an intern under P. C. Sreeram (known as the Guru of Cinematography) for six years. He got great opportunities to work in the cinematography department and exerted on many ad promotions and campaigns. He even got little exposure to the television industry and quality films. Having gained enough experience, Arvind decided to work independently. Soon he met Selvaraghavan, a film director.

Selvaraghavan appointed Arvind as his chief camera head for a film Kadhal Kondein, 7G Rainbow Colony and Pudhupettai.
