Nirmal Baby Varghese is a well-known Malayalam film director, screenwriter, and film editor. He was born on 13 January 1994 in Kavummannam, Wayanad district, Kerala, to Baby P.K. and Lilly Baby. He is the younger brother of Baby Chaithanya, a film producer. From 2011 to 2014, he studied history at Calicut University in Malapuram. Nirmal made two short films in 2016, Mirror of Reality and Mattam: The Change. In 2019, he began his career in the Malayalam film industry as the associate editor of the film 'Kalippu.' Thariode, a historical documentary film on gold mining in Thariode, was his third directorial venture.
Vazhiye, his feature directorial debut, is the first-found footage film in Malayalam. Evan Evans, a music director from Hollywood, made his Indian film debut with the film. He also works as a public relations officer and a poster designer. He owns and operates the 'Casablanca Film Factory,' an independent film production firm. Vazhiye and Thariode: The Lost City are his forthcoming films.
