Get The Perfect Shot From Anywhere
The Key Grip of the crew coordinates with the Director of Photography to understand the location-based camera equipment that will be required for a particular shot. Before the start of the shoot, the person who is working as the Key Grip visits the set and studies the location completely so as to figure out the best options for the best capture and list down the additional requirements. They direct the entire team of grips for the installation of all the cameras and other materials like the cranes, dollies, or helicopters at suitable positions. They take up the responsibility to ship all these materials to the shoot location. The light is controlled by the Key Grip and is coordinated with the camera to achieve photographic perfection.
Technically sound, they are creative and imaginative. They are fast at solving on-spot issues, which are common because the type of photography that they are dealing with is extremely complex. They handle the light shape and intensity as well. Apart from working with the Camera and the Electric departments, they also take up the responsibility of the safety of the people on the set during the shoot since all the activities that are being done in these complicated shots involve a large amount of risk.
