Fixerr is a Hindi action-thriller depicting the life of a fixerr, as the name suggests he fixes deals with shady dons and shadowy politicians working as the quiet intermediary. When we encounter him for the first time, Jaiveerr Malik, the protagonist is neck-deep in the illicit entanglement of the underworld playing goondas against godmen, mafia men against mafia men. His mannerisms provoke the image of a hardened criminal, and his acts evoke little sympathy. He swindles, he cheats, lies, and hence has every crowning feature of a derelict man of no morals. That is until the delinquent gets shot on his back and is fatally wounded. Flashbacks of memory flood in and we are face to face with a different Malik, one who bears absolutely no similarities with the one we are already familiar with.
This Malik, indeed has a criminal connection but he is not the criminal himself; instead, at the other end of the spectrum, he is the one who chases the criminals, he is a police officer, upright, honest, and committed, a man of principles. And the story of his fall from the good books of law is one wrought in treachery and betrayal. His descend into don-hood began an unintended or intended fall out of an encounter during which a gangster’s wife dies allegedly from a shot fired from Malik’s gun. His superior jumps at the chance to implicate him and he are promptly suspended from the force leading to the events that we have discussed before. Fixerr streams exclusively on Zee 5 and Alt Balaji.
