Marthand K Venkatesh is a well known professional film editor who is mainly recognized for his works in Telugu cinema or Tollywood. He was born as the son of the famous K. M. Marthand, the most renowned film editor in the Telugu film industry and as the nephew of B. A. Subba Rao, a legendary director in the Tollywood film industry. As a young boy, he used to visit his father’s office where he saw him work. After a certain period, his father, K. M. Marthand had become an alcohol addict and his health quickly declined due to increased consumption of alcohol. Thagubothu Ramesh was born on 25th November 1981, in the Karimnagar district of Telangana. He was named as Ramesh Ramilla at birth, but after he began acting in films, he is popularly referred to as Thagabothu Ramesh. His surname is a result of his choice of roles or characters in movies. Ramesh is a Telugu film actor and in Telugu, ‘Thagubothu’ means drunkard. His 2009 movie- ‘Mahatma’ features him in such a role, and the film was a huge success, commercially as well as aesthetically.
