Dorasani” is a period romantic drama scripted and directed by KVR Mahendra. Madhura Sreedhar Reddy and Yash Rangineni produced the film. Sunny Kurapati cranked the camera and Navin Nooli edited the film. “ Prashanth R Vihari” is the music composer. Anand Deverakonda, Sivatmika Rajasekhar, Sharanya and Kishore play the lead roles.

Raju, who belongs to a low caste falls in love with Devaki, who is treated like the Princess of the village. He tries to impress her with his romantic poems on her and it works out for him. The Dorasani falls for his beautiful words and his love for her. When this comes to the limelight, survival becomes the toughest for them and they flee. What happened next? Did the Dorasani men catch them? Watch the film in theaters!

Star Performance

Sivatmika looks perfect for the role. She looks good and her performance is impressive. Her body language and dialogue delivery are neat. Anand Deverakonda is good in certain emotional scenes. Sharanya is okayish with her maid role.

The story is definitely not new. We have seen a lot of romantic stories with the caste issues right from the invention of the cinema. So, nothing special about the story. The cast selection should have been better for the supporting actors. Although Kishore is there, his character is not defined well. With only a few known actors and the debutants, the audience loses their interest in watching the film. The film moves at a slow pace and that’s the big minus. Cinematography is fantastic and Sunny has set vibrant colors in the background. Editing should have been better, as the film seems to be lengthy in specified portions. Music is excellent and kudos to Prashanth for his BGM.

What’s There?

  • Performance of the stars
  • Technically the film is sound

What’s Not There?

  • The story is not new
  • The characterization should have been better

The director should have engaged some known stars for the character roles. Although the leads are good and their chemistry is good, something is lacking! Overall, Dorasani could be watched once!
