Alphonse Puthren is a versatile Indian director, actor, producer, playback singer, screenwriter and editor. He was born on 10 February 1984 in Aluva, Kerala to Puthren Paul and Daisy Chacko. He completed his schooling from Amrita Vidyalayam in Kochi and his graduation from M.E.S. College in Aluva with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications.
He later joined the S.A.E. College in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, where he received his diploma in filmmaking. His earliest works were short films “Arkan” and “Sutrum Vizhi” which he shot during his college years. On the big screen, he made his directorial debut with the black comedy and thriller “Neram” (2013), starring Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim.
