A combo of humor and emotions has been used in correct levels to portray the bitter realities of the Mumbai city. It depicts the problems that a middle class or lower middle class people would face in terms of living in a congested place like Lalbaugh especially when they are newly married. Newly married Amit (Ankush), stays with his wife Manjari (
Mukta Barve
) and his parents and brother. Amit earns very little and his wife is an insurance agent. Few days after his marriage he realizes that there is very less and sometimes no privacy for them. So they decide to move to another house by saving some money. The problems that they face during this period of time what makes up the rest of the story.
Ankush Choudhary
who was already residing in Lalbaugh has not just acted but lived in the character. Senior artistes like
Vidyadhar Joshi
and
Vandana Gupte
who play Amit's parents do justice to the given job. Gupte, especially, brings life to play with his timely punch lines and expressions. Though it is a very congested place to live in, the lights and camera has taken the story to a good level without bringing any disgust to the audience. The script is contemporary and there is lot of freshness because of the way it is presented. Siddhartha Tattoskar has erected excellent sets which make us feel as if we stay there. The cuts are rhythmic and smooth which adds to the beauty of the play. The song ‘Mana Phiruni’ plays a significant role in connecting the film with the Common Mumbaikar. The film also has tracks ‘
Kiti Sangaychay Mala
’ and ‘Mann Suddha’ which conquer our hearts easily.
Double seat, perfectly made!
