The latest edition to the Marathi film director Shailesh Nile's repertoire is the disaster drama titled 21 Survival 12. Nile's previous directorial works include Marathi flicks titled Krishna Ki Murali and Veer Baji Prabhu Deshpande, but the most impressive project pocketed by him till date would be as the VFX head for an upcoming International film called “The Journey.”
This latest directorial project of his addresses the idea of the most contentious futuristic dilemma: the credibility of the Mayan prophecy, as the thriller follows four best buddies who believe they will outlive the dire prediction. They conclude that the only way to really celebrate their survival would be to throw an epic party one day before the world is said to end; the following day is a mystery. The soundtrack, which is crucial to this film because of its storyline, is produced by Kishore Kumar and Leena Chandavarkar's son

Interestingly, Gurdeep Mehndi is also one of the lead actors in the film. He's joined by Joy Banerjee (who has mainly acted in Bengali films till date), Chirag Trivedi, Priyanka Mehta, and Rehyna Malhotra, who are all newcomers, in the lead roles. The story and concept are also by Shailesh Nile, and Jayesh Pandagale will produce the movie. The dual roles undertaken by some of the production team suggests a small budget for the film only time will tell if it's a feature worth watching.
