Analysis: Unique POV cinematography, along with wide angle shots by Nima Nourizadeh, gives the movie a more down-to-earth fell, like something you would see on your mobile phone, rather than a movie theater. Actors perform to satisfaction. The movie is very predictable with sub-par performances and a boring storyline. It seems like a college lover’s dream with drugs, booze and sex taking the main stand, rather than the storyline, script or any of the actor’s performances. Good Screenplay, mediocre direction and lack of any unpredictable twists. Star Performances Thomas Mann had auditioned seven times before he got the role, as the directors wanted the cast to have no prior acting experience. It did pay off to have actors with no experience, as the movie and the chemistry seem amateur, which sets up the whole scene for the movie and the cinematography.
What’s there?
1. Spectacular and unique cinematography makes this movie a unique watch
2. Filled with booze, drugs and sex, this film may catch the interest of young viewers
What’s not there?
1.A decent storyline is lacking here, along with a good script.
2. Great acting from the lead actors is definitely a major issue here, as most of the actors are amateurs.
Verdict:
A good effort from the director and the cast, but the fact is that a weak script let down the entire team. Ultimately a predictable movie, made for addiction – hungry youngsters, with stereotypical roles and scenes. It should have had a loyal following, but it is a movie you should give a miss unless you’re very bored.
