) has entered into his former house with a hostage and a stuffed wolverine against the police that has besieged the house. Ulysses comes with a teen girl slung over his shoulder named as Denny. Denny claims later that she can read Ulysses’ thoughts, Ulysses used to live here with his wife and four children. The film is narrated by the ghost of Ulysses’ father in law who is in chains locked up in his daughter’s bed by his daughter Hyacinth, played by Isabella Rossellini. Ulysses is here to find Hyacinth and knows that he is in a room upstairs but is unable to find the room. The house is haunted with many ghosts and Ulysses warns his gang members not to get involved with them. One of the gang members gets killed, and the house shoots Heatly( the adopted son of Ulysses).He dumps them both in a bog. Ulysses talks to his wife through a keyhole and revisits the memories one by one. A doctor arrives and tries to save Denny but is unsuccessful in it. The hostage frees himself revealing himself to be Ulysses only living son Manners. And then after the uproar there is a peaceful and reflective ending.
Brilliant performances by Jason and Isabella and outclass direction. The film seems like a dream at times, and you tend to get lost in it. It is a noir drama with a sense of vagueness in it.
Verdict: Watching the movie for fun is no justice to the movie. One has to get involved with the feelings and memories.
