2. Sanath Gunathilake
Sanath Gunathilake is an actor, writer cum director in Sri Lankan film industry. He was born Somsiri Sanath Julien Gunatilake in Mulgampola in Kandy, Sri Lanka, on 27th October 1955. He graduated from Kingswood College. Sanath’s father, Hector Gunatilake, was a lawyer, and his mother, Grace Gunatilake, was a teacher. After completing his education, he started working as a chemistry teacher. In 1978, Sanath debuted in the film industry with Situ Kumariyo, a movie directed by Vijaya Dharmasiri. However, the film had a delayed release, making Ganga Addara his debut film in 1980. Situ Kumariyo was released in 1981. It was a great start for Sanath, as he had nearly seven releases that year.
