Rewben Mashangva is a folk singer from Manipur, India. Unlike others, he has good infusing styles of western music into folk music. He is also known as the Bob Dylan of the Nagas. He has created many Naga tribal folk songs. He also received the national tribal award 2011-12, for his contribution of his to the development of tribal music from the ministry of tribal affairs, the government of India. His discography contains Tantivy (1999), Naga Folk-Blues, Creation, Our Story (2012). He calls himself ‘Hao’ (hao means the people, land, identity, and culture). He is planning to spread his music across the country by appealing to youngsters by performing in colleges.
