Stany Bela

Stany Bela is an Indian Konkani director, poet, scriptwriter, and journalist. As a short story writer, production director, and poet, Stany Bela mainly works for Konkani television shows. He has been Buero Chief at Daiji World Media Private Limited in Mangaluru, Karnataka, since January 2017. Stany Bela hails from a village known as Bela in the Kasargod district of Kerala state. He worked for a shipping company for ten years in Dubai, and then he started working for Daiji World Media, where Stany Bela continues as bureau head & programme director. He has written poems, essays, plays, short stories, and reviews in various languages, including Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, and Malayalam. He has also translated works from other languages.

Stany Bela has written eleven songs for the Daivik Sandesh album at the age of seventeen. He made his songs unique as he did not add sentimentality & romance to them. During his tenure life in Dubai for ten years, helped him hone his talent in script writing & direction. In Dubai, Stany Bela took a short training programme in filmmaking, which helped him now in his career as a director & scriptwriter in Konkani. He then went back to Mangaluru to work as a journalist.

As a director & scriptwriter, Stany Bela has contributed a lot to the 'Public Challenge' show on Daiji World television. During the period of lockdown, his efforts were to reach people through his unique shows at Daiji World. He has worked as director & scriptwriter for a Konkani serial, “Mrs Meena and Family,” which created a record in coastal Karnataka. Stany Bela received the Kittal Youth Award in 2011. On August 23, 2021, he was the guest for the Thaallo Umaallo programme. Stany Bela also recited three of his poems during the live programme. He was nominated to the language advisory board of Kendra (Konkani) Sahitya Akademi, the National Academy of Letters, the government of India for tenure of five years from 2023 to 2027. He also represents the Kerala state along with young & promising writer Namratha P Kini from Alappuzha district, Kerala.
