Maya Sakmana is a Sinhala TV serial which tells a story of Maya, a little girl with special powers; that a witch has targeted her and she and her two friends have to fight for their own and the safety of the village. The evil witch in the film is motivated by raw ambition and hostility, as well as the orders given to her by a man who is her leader. Starting from Maya and her friends’ attempts at escaping from the evil witch, the friends also explore how Maya can protect her family and villagers. The series is focused on the trio and their fight against the witch’s evil powers, as well as against her superior who has even worse plans, this challenges the characters’ friendship, bravery and determination.
