Jayani Senanayake is a Sri Lankan film, television, and theater actress. Jayani was born on 1 February 1974 in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, and her full name is Kapuwela Vidanage Senanayake Mudiyanselage Jayani Chamathka Dharmadasa Senanayake. She is married to Sanjeeva Illeperuma. Jayani has studied at Sri Sumangala Maha Vidyalaya, Anuradhapura, Dhammdinna Vidyalaya, Galkulama, and Niwanthakachethia Vidyalaya, Anuradhapura.

While growing up, he was the youngest child in the family and attended Rahula College for his education. Prior to entering the world of drama, he served in the Sri Lanka Army as a second lieutenant from 2003 to 2007. He was stationed at several bases, during his service in the army including Ariyalei, Sarasale, Naagadeepa, Kilali, Eluthumadduval, and Muhamalai, where he contributed his skills and dedication. After leaving the army, he transitioned to a managerial role in the pharmaceutical marketing industry.
