1. Swaroop Sampat
Previous Miss India challenge champion (1979), and representative of India in Miss Universe (1979), Swaroop Sampat is one of the most respected and well known celebrities in the Indian Entertainment Industry. Swaroop, unlike most of the people in the industry she is a highly educated person. She received her PhD degree in education from the University of Worcester (UK). She has done her doctoral thesis on using drama to promote life skills in children with learning difficulties.
The TV show, which made her famous, was Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi (1984). The TV serial was comedy based, and Swaroop played the role of, late, Shafi Inamdar's wife. After this role she got the attention of many directors and producers, and she got casted in many TV series.
She has worked in many commercials and worked as a model for many brands, some foreign included. There are two sides to her personality, she is a glamorous celebrity, but on the other hand, she is caring, and work for children. She teaches acting to disabled children, as she wants to change the thinking that disabled children are not meant to be casted in Entertainment Industry.
Swaroop lives a happy married life; she is married to an actor, named Paresh Rawal, and has two children Aniruddh and Aditya. Whenever she gets free time, she rushes towards her home and spend it with her family, she likes to cook for them and always try new recipes to make family suppers fascinating.
