Raja was the founder of the first Bengali Rock Band in Kolkata, he was a drummer and rhythm programmer who was part of the first Bangala Band revolution in 1989 at the age of 17. Raja went to the United Kingdom settled down and became a British citizen in 2002, he was married to Pia Mukherjee (Pia Janniel Chipper), an Australian Bio-Medical scientist.
