Plot

The story starts in an engineering college where Vicky wins an election for Union Chairman of the college. Vickey loves Anu, who loves him back and has a lot of trust in him. After they celebrate winning the election, Vicky and his team decide to set up a fight against the police but their college principal Adiyodi Meppadu, stops the conflict. Vicky is quite popular in the college and everyone in college likes him. One day after a random argument Vickey and Meera, his class fellow enter into a bet on a basketball match, if their team wins the tournament then Meera agrees to chop off her hair. Finally, the college team wins the competition, and Vicky performs quite well, so they all celebrate their victory. Later Vicky and Anu’s relationship became even more serious and she asked him not to cut off Meera’s hair and he agreed. Here Roy enters the scene. He also likes Anu and tries to bring up a misunderstanding between Anu and Vicky. Roy and his friend cut off Meera’s hair, and everyone misunderstands it as Vicky, creating a dispute among the couple. The rest of the story revolves around how the misunderstanding between them grew.

Star Performance

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s performance was excellent, he was a popular student and had a macho personality. Indrajith Sukumaran also gave a competitive performance to Prithviraj and so was Geetu Mohandas, as a sensible and practical girl. Altogether, the whole cast was well-coordinated and dedicated in a way that the movie gave a perfect college vibe. But the performance could be better if they cut out unnecessary overacting and conversations.

Analysis

Nammal Thammil is a love drama movie about college mates. The movie had a simple storyline and unnecessary fight scenes to extend the storytime. The scenes, dialogues, and storyline can bore the viewer in the first half. The storyline lies in a basic story of misunderstanding that arose between the couple intentionally and it’s hard to keep your attention attached to the film due to a loose story base. The girl seemed a little influenced, and the script seemed impractical at some point. However, the movie draws the audience through a young love story and different college incidents. However, the songs are excellent and the ending was also perfect.
