Kannada Movie Review Style King - Cast & Crew

Remya Nambeesan is a chirpy young Indian actress, whose primary focus is Mollywood. Born on January 1, 1986, Remya Nambeesan was introduced into the film industry with the 2000 Malayalam flick Sayahnam. R Sarath helmed direction for this flick. After that, she went on to work in various Malayalam films as a child artiste. Then she was seen in insignificant supporting roles including Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka, Gramophone, etc. She had worked under the direction of Sarath for three times. Eventually, she got lead roles since the year 2006. 

A pleased on screen mother, she has received phenomenal appreciation for her roles as a soft mom. She is a familiar face not only on the small screen, but also on the big screen. Added to this is the ease of having more than fifteen years of experience in acting, which definitely propels this actress to take up roles and accomplish the same efficiently.

She has acted in a lot of movies and some of the movies which were a blockbuster. The notable names include, Mungaru Male, in the year 2006, directed by Yogaraj Bhat. This movie ran in the theatres for five hundred days. Pamaja plays the role of Bablee, who is Pooja Gandi (Nandini’s) mother. The year 2008 saw her in Gaali Pata, directed by Yogaraj Bhat. In this movie, she plays the character of Padma, who is Sowmya’s (Daisy Bopanna) mother – in – law. This was yet another super hit movie in the box – office. Ugramma is another movie where she plays yet another supporting role in this thriller action film. 

Her popular small screen serial was Moodala Mane, directed by Vaishali Kasaravalli. It was aired on ETV Kannada. Preethi Illada Mele was another teleserial of hers. 

Having had huge success in acting, she has now moved yet another notch in her life. Padmaja takes a plunge into direction. Yes, this lovely on screen mother will be seen as a director. On the telly serial front, she has directed Benkiyalli Aralidha Hoo aired on Zee Kannada. She has roped in Pooja Gandhi, Yash, Dodanna and others. On the big screen, her venture as debut director is with the movie Thumba Ishta Swalpa Kashta (TISK), with a 1.6 crores budget. The star cast in this movie is Diganth, Andrita Ray and Yash.

Arjun Janya is an Indian singer and music composer. In 2006, he made his debut in the industry with Kannada movie Autograph Please starring Dilip Raj and Sanjjanaa. In the south film industry, he is a score director and composer of high demand. The movies for which he composes music have done well on box-office in past. He is known for music in Sanchari and Singam. He was born on May 13, 1980, in Bengaluru, Karnataka to Anusuya and Ashwath Kumar. He learnt music from James and thinks of AR Rahman as his inspiration. It is said that a meeting between him and AR Rahman changed him and converted him into what he is today.

Baba Bhaskar is a popular Indian movie director as well as a Choreographer, who mainly works in the South Indian movie industry. He mostly features in Tamil movies, but he also works in other language industries such as Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu films as well. He started his career with the movie Kotha Bangaru Lokam, which is a Telugu movie as a Choreographer. Later, Baba worked in the Tamil film Kedi which got him great recognition. Presently, he is taking part in one of the famous TV reality show Bigg Boss Telugu Season 3, which is hosted by Akkineni Nagarjuna.

Ravivarma is a stunt director of Indian movies. He is mainly a Kannada film action master. He came to limelight after being nominated for best stunt director for the movie “Kempe Gowda” (2011). Apart from that, he notably worked in “Vishnuvardhana”(2011). Verma became popular in Bollywood industry after his debut stunt direction in Salman Khan’s film “ Jai Ho”(2014) directed by Sohail Khan.

Ganesh is an Indian actor and a producer who predominantly works in the Kannada Film Industry. He came to fame by anchoring a show called “Comedy Time” which was aired on Udaya Channel. He acted in the movie “Mungaru Male” which made him an instant superstar in the Kannada film industry. Born in Adakamaranahalli, to Kishan and Sulochna, Ganesh is the eldest son in his family. He has two brothers: Mahesh and Umesh.

Rangayana Raghu was born on 30th November, 1963. He acts in Kannada film industry and his genre is comedy. Till date he has appeared over 100 films and most of them have been comic roles.

He began his career in theatre group by name Rangayana in Mysore, way back in 1988.  His initial salary was just Rs 800 per month. He was supposed to make his debut with 1995 film Suggi, which was directed by award winning director Hamsalekha. Unfortunately, Suggi was shelved and never released.

His first major release was 2002 film Dhumm, starring Kiccha Sudeep and Rakshita directed by M.S. Ramesh. He went to act in films like Ranga SSLC, Rakshasa, and many more. However his best films till date are 2007 film Duniya and 2013 film Director's Special.

Duniya showcased Raghu at his best. Overall Duniya bagged 4 Karnataka State Film awards in 2007, including Best Supporting Actor for Rangayana Raghu. Director’s Special is a Kannada satire comedy film, written and directed by Guruprasad. Along with debutant Dhananjay, Rangayana Raghu essays the role of lead Panche Shastry / Ramachandra. This movie really showed Rangayana Raghu’s theatrical background and what he can do in a film with his power packed performance which was a mix of comedy and sarcasm.

Sadhu Kokila is a Kannada actor who primarily works on comedy roles. He is also a director and music composer. Rakta Kanneeru, Om and Shhh are some of the movies that he directed and also acted. The Vijay starrer Devru was also directed by him.
Born on 24th March, 1966, Sadhu Kokila, also known as Kokila Sadhu, hails from a family of musically inclined people. His father was a violinist in a music group of Karnataka Police Department. His sister and mother are singers. Layendra, Kokila’s brother, is also an actor. Kokila pursued his schooling at St. Joseph’s Indian High School in Bangalore. Kannada star Upendra provided him with the name Sadhu Kokila. 
Kokila kickstarted his career in the film industry as a musician and eventually he was referred to Kasturi Shankar, another musician. He has the reputation of being one of the swiftest keyboard players in India. Kokila has helmed direction for 12 Kannada flicks, and 6 of them were remakes. His directorial venture Anarkali was dropped midway. 
Kokila expresses that audiences and the media question whether his films are a remake or original. He had made up his mind not to endeavor in remakes. He feels that composing music requires a lot of creativity. As far as his comedy stint is concerned, he is loved by the audience. And about acting he feels that it is exciting. Sadhu Kokila has received awards for music direction twice. 
As far as remakes are concerned Kokila is of the view that there are creative limitations. But originals are enjoyable both in the sense of creativity and visualization. Sadhu Kokila along with Doddanna make a good pair for situation comedies. Kokila is compared with Johnny Lever of Bollwyood,for his comedy skills. 
On his personal front, Kokila is wedded to Saleena. They are blessed with two sons. 

P C Shekar is a famous Indian film writer and a director as well. His full name is P Chandrashekhar. His first Tamil movie as a director was ‘Kadhalae en Kadhalae’ which got released in 2006. Later, he made debut in the Kannada film industry with the movie ‘Nayaka’ which released in 2010.

Santhosh Pandit born in Kerala, India is a Malayalam producer, film actor, director, film writer, musician, choreographer, singer, internet celebrity and a film editor. Santhosh was born in a village called Peruvannamuzhi and grew up in the city Kozhikode. He did his schooling from AKKR High School at Chelannur and attended college at Government Arts College. He lost his parents at an early age and inherited three houses. He sold one of his houses to raise funds for his debut film. His first marriage was unsuccessful, and thus, he divorced his wife and got remarried. He had one son by his first wife named Navajyoth Pandit.
