Plot

The film follows JJ, played by Dave Bautista, a former Special Forces Click to look into! >> Read More... officer working as a CIA agent. He lacks the subtlety of a spy and botches up his first mission. He is assigned a tech operator Bobbi, played by Kristen Schaal, and they are both assigned to monitor the sister-in-law of Victor Marquez, a French arms dealer, because the CIA believes that Victor’s brother David hid the plans of a nuclear bomb and Victor killed his brother for these plans. They monitor Kate, played by Parisa Fitz-Henley, and Sophie, played by Chloe Coleman, but Sophie soon discovers the spying equipment hidden by JJ and confronts JJ and Bobbi about it. She promises to keep mum about their spying activities, in return for JJ’s help in teaching her about spying, and helping her fit in with the kids in her new school. The film follows JJ and Sophie as JJ teaches her about espionage, and how they ultimately stop the criminals.

Star Performance

Child actor Chloe Coleman delivers a stellar performance as Sophie. She perfectly portrays the character’s wit, charms, and emotions. Dave Bautista also gives a good performance as the CIA operative who does not possess the charms and finesse spies need.

Analysis

The film has good performances, action, and humor. The film portrays the heartwarming story of the bond that develops between a clumsy spy and a smart child.
