The movie is a documentary film that draws inspiration from the life of Joan Rivers Joan Alexandra Molinsky was born on 8th June 1933 >> Read More... . This documentary was directed by Ricki Stern and Anne Sundberg.

PLOT: This documentary shows fourteen months of the life of a female performer, namely Joan Rivers. This documentary was filmed when she was aged seventy-six. The struggles and the sacrifices faced by her are screened to us. This movie depicts her path very since the fall that she faced through 'The Tonight Show,' till the 'Celebrity Apprentice,' through which she became an iconic figure. ANALYSIS: Rivera's journey is beautifully produced through this movie. In a male dominated industry, she happens to be one of the unbeatable performers through her hard work. The directors of the movie tracked her for a year, during which she worked on the 'Celebrity Apprentice' show. Even the ugly shout out that happened in the Wisconsin Casino was also taped. Instead of revealing her as a confident person ebbing with enthusiasm and dedication to work, she is portrayed as a vulnerable and an egocentric person.

STAR PERFORMANCE: Joan Rivers enact both protagonist and antagonist as well. She is a strong-willed woman, who utilizes all the opportunities, and does not go to take rest. Though she is with a bitter and angry personality, she manages to entertain all her audiences. She acts like she is young at age. Also, she demands more respect. It is quite disappointing to know that Rivers's on stage and away from the limelight characters do not have much difference.

WHAT'S THERE? Audio commentary and some real footages from the shows of Joan were included in the movie.

WHAT'S NOT THERE? The narration of this movie seemed to have some trouble. It was tough to watch the movie without being judgmental since the protagonist was totally unpredictable.

VERDICT: Even after forty-five years in the industry, Joan goes strong.
