Kathy Griffin is an overwhelming force to be reckoned with in the fields of television, tours, and also in publishing. She started her career as a stand-up comedian. Kathy managed to put her name down in history, yet again. This time, it was because she got inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records. She starred in as many as twenty stand-up shows, which was more than any other stand-up comedian had ever done. She always stays motivated because of her large fan base. Her performances in comedy have been described as extraordinary and out of this world altogether.

For CNN’s New Year’s Eve special, she garnered the attention of a big audience. Because of this, she along with co-host Anderson Cooper topped the ratings beating Fox News to it. In fact, for any premier live event, Kathy is the first choice. It is evident in that she has hosted the Billboard Music Awards for three consecutive years, the 41st Daytime Emmy Awards, and the AARP’s Movies for Grownups Gala, all live shows. Because of her tremendous success in hosting live shows, Griffin managed to get her hands on her live late night talk show.

Griffin also wrote and published a memoir, Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin. The book debuted on the top position of the New York Times Bestseller List. She had her reality television series as well, called Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List. She received two Emmy Awards for work on the same. The show received Emmy Award nominations for all the years it aired on television. Not just the Emmys, the show won other awards as well; the GLAAD Media Award for Best Reality Program, and received six nominations in a row for the Producers Guild of America.

Griffin starred as a regular cast member on the NBC show Suddenly Susan. She even has had many guest starring roles in famous shows like ‘Seinfeld’ and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
