Plot

Girls of the Hawthorne College are being killed one by one by an unknown stalker.

Riley suffers from PTSD after being sexually assaulted by Brian Huntley, former president of Delta Kappa Omicron fraternity. Things become worse when she starts receiving some strange, threatening messages on her phone from a person who claims to be Calvin Hawthorne, her college founder. Then one night she and her friends Kris and Marty are attacked by a group of masked men. But these girls are not the ones they can just mess with and go away; they are determined to catch the stalker and fight against him.

Star Performance

The acting is poor by the whole cast Imogen Poots tried her best and was better than other actors to some extent, but as a whole, the acting failed massively. One of the reasons behind this is because of the lack of character development.

Analysis

Black Christmas is the remake of a remake with the same name released in 1974. The 1974 version is a classic whose remake came out in 2006, which left fans disappointed, and then again in 2019, another remake came which left fans thinking that the 2006 version was better. The black Christmas 2019 version left people more than disappointed. The director focused on showing women empowerment to the extent that they forgot to develop their characters. That left the characters to be unlikeable. The movie lacks imagination and has almost no suspense and mystery. The cinematography is tedious, which lefts the movie to be boring.

What is there?

  • Unintentional comedy

What is not there?

  • Lacks depth
  • Unlikeable characters
  • No mystery or suspense

Verdict

The whole movie falls dull, and it could never bring out the original message they wanted to exhibit. Do not watch this. You can always find better ways to waste your time.
