Harry Haran

Harry Haran is a Sri Lankan film editor and graphic designer, known for his work in Srinath Ramalingam’s Tamil supernatural horror movie “Unakkenna Venum Sollu: What Do You Want…” (2015). The film is set around a couple that encounters paranormal activities when they visit Chennai to treat their ill son due to an atrocious decision made by the mother in the past. Harry edited as well as added the animation effects to the film, making the metaphysical scenes seem as real as possible.

Though the film fell short of expectations, Harry was highly commended for his job. He was born in the capital city of Colombo as Ravindrakumar Hariharan.

He attended the Vivekananda College following which he enrolled in the London Business School, both in Colombo. He started his career as the editor and associate producer in Srinath Ramalingam’s Hollywood horror film “Trapped in Abyss” (2010). In 2012, he joined the Team Entourage Inc. Under the banner of which he provided digital effects to J.K. Saravana’s comedy “Pickles” (2011).

He left the company in 2014 to join Juno Pictures in Chennai after working with it in his second collaboration with Srinath for the short film “Theechedi” (2013), based on the civil year that had lasted more than three decades in Sri Lanka. Harry later founded a production house in Chennai in 2017 named Independent Production Company.
