Barathi Balakumaran is a writer and director predominantly working in the Tamil Film Industry. He hails from Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu. He wanted to create a successful career for himself in the showbiz industry. Barathi took part in the reality show “Naalaya Iyakkunar,”which gave him a platform to showcase his talent.
“Uthiri,” a short film which he directed, was appreciated a lot. He decided to take the idea of Uthiri and expand it to a feature film.
He debuted as a writer and director in the 2013 drama film “
