Susmesh Chandroth

Susmesh Chandroth is a well-known writer from the Malayalam film industry. He also writes novels, short stories, screenplay, essays, drama, and children’s literature. He was born on 1 April 1977 in Vellathooval, Idukki, Kerala. His wife is Dr. Deepa V.K. Susmesh got Novel Carnival Prize for his first novel D. He scripted various short films, Television serials, Malayalam films, Monsoon Camp: A New Objectivity, written and directed by him,100 episodes of Haritha Bharatham (Green India ), Malayalam feature film ‘ Pakal Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ (the Day) in 2006, Malayalam short film Ashupathrikal Avashyappudunna Lokam (The world which demands hospital) in 2007 and short film ‘Marichavarude Kadal’ (Sea of the dead) directed by the national award winner Priyanandanan.In 2018, he directed and wrote the film Padmini, based on the story of painter T.K. Padmini.

Susmesh was honored with various awards for his contribution to the writing world. In 2011, he received Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar from the Government of India. He received Edasseri Award for Marana Vidyalayam in 2008, Ankanam E. P. Sushma Endowment Award in 2011, Kerala Sahitya Akademi Geetha Hiranyan Endowment for  Swarnamahal in 2010, K.A. Kodungalloor Award for the story Marana Vidyalayam in 2010, Thoppil Ravi Memorial Literary Award for the story Marana Vidyalayam in 2010, Kerala State Television Award for Best Screenplay – Athira 10 C, Cheru kad Award for Barcode in 2012, C.V Sreeraman Smrithi Award for Barcode in 2013, Abu Dhabi Shakti Award for Barcode in 2013, T.V Kochubava Story Award for the story Marana Vidyalayam in 2013 and Mundoor Krishnankutty Award for the story Marana Vidyalayam in 2014.
