S N Swamy

SN Swamy is a screenwriter who works in the Indian film industry predominately in the Malayalam industry. He has written scripts for a lot of movies and is known for the CBI film series, irupatham noottandu and moonnam mura.

Mr. Swamy was born in Kochi, Kerala. He is known for the films in the Malayalam industry, particularly in the thriller genre. He has been acclaimed for scripting pictures which have been great hits in the southern cinema. He has also worked in collaboration with great directors like K Madhu, joshiy and AK Sajan.

SN has also made popular fictional characters who have appeared in more than a movie such as Sethuraman Iyer, Sagar alias Jacky, tharadas and inspector Balram. All of these have been portrayed by Mammootty in different films.

Till now he has written a total of forty-three pictures and has even acted in one film. Mr. Swamy started his career as a scriptwriter with the movie koodum thedi directed by Paul babu. Released on 12th February 1985 it is a romantic drama revolving around a guy and a married girl.

He worked for two other films in the same year titled oru noku Kannan and Kandu kandarinju both of which are directed by Sajan. Following these four other films were made and released based on his script in 1986. They are snehamulla sinham, geetham, ennum mathante nimmi by Sajan and akalathe ambili by jeasy. 1987 was the first big year of his career as his script made the first hit film irupatham noottandu by K Madhu. Released on 14th may the film received positive reviews from both the critics as well as the audience.

Five of his scripts were filmed in the year 1988 among which three of them had been directed by K Madhu titled oru CBI diary kurippu, oohakkachavadam, and moonnam Nura. The other two were August 1 and naduazhikal.

The other pictures for which his script has been taken include jagratha, naduvazhikal, carnivel, adikkurippu, mounam sammadham, kalikkalam, parampara, chanchattam, apoorvam chilar, adayalam, dhruvam, sainyam, oral mathram, aayiram naavulla ananthan, oru abhibhashakante case diary, the truth, Nariman, nerariyan CBI, janakan, agninakshthram, Sethuraman Iyer CBI, Balram vs. tharadas, Baba Kalyani, janmam, positive, rehasya police, Sagar alias Jacky reloaded, August 1, Lokpal and CBI 5.

Apart from being a writer, Swamy has also acted in a movie puthuja nujamam which released in 2016. Directed by AK Sajan, he did the role of a witness in the film.
