She has also acted in various Malayalam films and is a familiar face in several ad films. Sreedevi Unni grew up in a pleasant atmosphere in Kozhikode with her father being an IT practitioner and mother being a teacher. When she grew up, she was married to Mr. Narayan Unni, who is from Hornpur and he truly supported her dance and music. When her husband got a job offer in Bangalore in the year 1974, Sreedevi welcomed the new change with open arms. Bangalore was no less than a dreamland for her, and the thing that she loved most about Bangalore was the sense of freedom that the city offered. She had two children, daughter Monisha, who was four years old, and her son Sajit who was eight years old back then.

Perhaps the biggest loss for a parent is the loss of their child, and unfortunately, Sreedevi had this loss written in her destiny. It was in 1992 that she lost her beloved daughter Monisha in a car accident. Monisha was a National Award-winning actress and lived for 21 years. Sreedevi was in the same car as her daughter but survived despite being gravely injured. It was the love and support of her family and the path of spirituality and positive thinking that gave her enough courage to move forward in life.
