Radhika George

Radhika George is a Tamil film actress, who was debuted in James Vasanthan’s first musical Tamil film, Vaanavil Vaazhkai Click to look into! >> Read More... (2015). Radhika is a trained percussionist and her teacher influenced her to play other percussion instruments aside from Tabla. She is also playing Djembe, Cajon, Tumba, Bongos, Mridangam, and Chenda and has performed in several stages in Kerala. She is a member of a band called Eastern Band during college, who has won several awards at School Youth Festivals. Radhika is also a member of the Wooden Shield, a percussion band based in Cochin. Currently, she works as a percussion faculty at the Pavo School of Music in Chennai.

At 13, she took drum lessons at the Trinity College of Music London and completed the 8th grade. At present, she played the drums in the Chennai-based rock band called Vertigo. She studied Computer Engineering at SRM University in Tamil Nadu and became a member of the Engineers Without Borders (EWB) when she was in her second year. Radhika, along with her musician friends, has started Heart Beats; a program that aims to deliver live music to some institutions including Homes for the Destitute. She also got involved in a collaborative project called Strisvara, where 15 female musicians collaborated to compose music, form friendships, and empowered together to showcase their work.
