Vijayakumar is an Indian actor. His work is predominant in Malayalam movies. He was acted in more than a hundred Malayalam films. His career comprised of a diverse variety of roles. He took the lead hero roles in the 1990s while the later part of his career saw him performing villain roles and characters. Vijayakumar was born at Thiruvananthapuram. He was brought into this career by his father who was a Malayalam movie producer. Vijayakumar completed his schooling from St. Mary’s School, Trivandrum.
Soon after, he got his bachelors degree in commerce from M. G. College, Trivandrum. His debut as an actor was in the 1973 film Maadhavikkutty, after which there was a brief slump in his career, until he got a role in 1987 film Jungle Boy. He has also worked on films as an editor, a producer as well as a lyricist.
