B.Saroja Devi

B. Saroja Devi is an Indian actress born on 7 January 1938 in Karnataka to Rudramma and Bhairappa.Her father worked in the Police department. B.Saroja Devi has acted in Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu movies. She debuted with the film Mahakavi Kalidasa in 1955 for which she won a National Award. She has acted in more than 150 movies in a period of six decades. Saroja Devi is one of the few most successful female film stars in the Indian cinema history and she was at the height of her career as the main female lead actress in movies in the period between 1958 to 1985.She became the highest paid actress in Kannada films from 1970-1980.B. Saroja Devi received critical acclaims for her roles throughout her career.

B. Saroja Devi served as Chairperson of the Karnataka Film Development Corporation and was also the chairperson of Kantheerava Studios in Bangalore.
