Suryakant Sawhney appears to be the prototypical 'artist.' This musician has become the face of the indie music industry with his lanky stature, mysterious charisma, and gloomy gaze. Sawhney was born in Gurugram but spent most of his childhood in the United States. His initial choice of artistic expression wasn't necessarily music. He began his career as a filmmaking student in San Francisco before returning to his country as a multi-influenced musician. He began recording jazz songs with Peter Cat Recording Co., a New Delhi hemp jazz business, during his vacations in 2013. It's now arguably the country's most adventurous band. They have a lengthy history of doing what no one expects them to do. Suryakant, the band's frontman, recently debuted his solo electronic project, Lifafa, in keeping with tradition.

Something he claims is vastly different from what he produced as part of his previous musical group. He did, however, completely relinquish his passion for film and cinematic aesthetics. Each of his songs nearly forces you to close your eyes and imagine what the powerful, philosophical lyrics are saying. His musical roots had already been established, as he grew up in a family that listened to Western and Indian music. His mother was a passionate bhajan singer, and his father was the one who exposed him to Western music. As a result, an artist with influences ranging from Mohammed Rafi Mohammed Rafi is a renowned Indian playback singer >> Read More... and Mukesh to Dean Martin has emerged.

He's an old-school vocalist with a powerful, passionate, and expressive deep voice. The words are nearly always in English and are sad, but they are placed to upbeat, frequently foot-tapping tunes and rhythms. While his work is influenced by jazz, it also has elements of rock, synth, electronica, and gypsy music. In Lifafa, his unstructured musical approaches find a new home in electronic music. Sawhney picked the name because it refers to "enveloping" in electronic music, which is the way a sound swells and decays over time (lifafa means "envelope" in Hindi).
