Keerthi Reddy was always drawn towards cinema and she wanted to become an actress when she was in the third standard. But she hardly knew if she could ever achieve it. She stooped studying further after she completed her HSC and took a break from studies and entered the silver screen. She was spotted by Tamil actor Naseer, who had cast her in his film ‘’Devathai’’, after watching her in a cultural programme organized in school. Her break in cinema was a pure luck and she did not knock on doors to doors to get her first role. After she started with ‘’Devathai’’, she got “Ninaivirukkum Varai’’, another Tamil film starring Prabhu Deva.Â
After her popularity in Telugu cinema, she made an appearance as Abhishek Bachchan's costar in ‘’Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa’’. The film was not a success, although she was spotted well as a carefree girl. She was simultaneously acting in another film ‘Ishq, Mohabbat, Pyaar’, directed by
Rajiv Rai
. She was a bit upset for poor response in ‘’Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya’’, but concentrated in her next film ‘’Ishq, Mohabbat, Pyar’’, which also did not do too well in box office.Â
Next, she had Anil Kapoor’s first production film “Badhai Ho Badhai’’ in her hand. This film also did not fare well in box-office. Since she could not make her presence felt in Bollywood, she concentrated in regional cinema, such as Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. In 2002, she acted in ‘’Superstar’’(Kannada), and again in 2004, she was seen in ‘’Arjun’’(Telugu) in which she received the best supporting actress role.Â
In 2004, she tied knot with actor Nagarjuna’s nephew Sumanth, but in 2006, the couple got a divorce. Again she got married and now has a son. She was neither successful in South Indian film industry nor in Bollywood even. But yet she is a simple girl by heart, who loves doing household chores like shopping, cleaning house and reading.
Sanjeev Kumar
,
Brad Pitt
,
Michael Douglas
are her favourite actors. She has not given up her abilities as an actress and might be seen in few more projects very soon.
