David Attenborough is a highly cherished and respectable personality in the entertainment industry who has been known throughout as a gem for Britain. He is a naturalist, and an English Broadcaster, who was born on 8th of May in the year 1926 in Isleworth, London. When he was young, he was always interested in things like collecting fossils and stones which impressed everyone around him and it became fairly clear that he will become a personality who will be closed to nature and its creations. He attended the Wyggeston Grammar School, which was an all-boys school and was located in Leicester. He had also educated himself from Claire College, Cambridge University where he studied his favorite subjects, zoology and geology. As he realized his impeccable potential in making films and documentaries related to nature, he became a senior manager at BBC. He is credited to have written and presented a series on BBC which was named Life, and it ran for nine series. He has also written an autobiography in the year 2002, and he named it Life on Air. He is currently working as a senior lecturer at Australian National University which is located in Canberra.

Attenborough married Jane Elizabeth Ebsworth Oriel in the year 1950, and they have two children together, a girl named Susan and a boy named Robert. Elizabeth died in the year 1997. David has received various prestigious laurels and appreciations for his commendable contribution to the research and development of the studies of nature. He has been bestowed with the BAFTA Award for the various programs that he has produced and is the only person to have received them for Black-White, Color, HD and 3D programs. Apart from the several other awards he has received, he also has many newly found species of flora and fauna named after him. The butterfly species, black-eyed satyr, was named after Attenborough. Other species that have been named after him are a species of grasshopper, long-beaked echidna, pitcher plan as well as a dinosaur.
