Cristiano Ronaldo

Anyone who follows football must be well aware of Cristiano Ronaldo. He is one of the most famous sportsmen who is notable not just for his on-field exploits but also for his off-field shenanigans. His full name is Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro.

Cristiano was born in São Pedro, Funchal, on February 5, 1985. Although he was born in São Pedro, his parents brought him up in Santo António. Cristiano's mother and father's names are Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro and José Dinis Aveiro. His family wasn't well-off financially, and Cristiano had to go through difficult times to pursue his passion.

When he turned fourteen, he decided to take up football as a profession. However, the journey wasn't easy since doctors diagnosed a condition named racing heart in him, which threatened to ruin his dream before it even took off. Cristiano didn't lose heart and underwent an operation which was successful.

His first stint was with Sporting CP. Since then he has successfully played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and for the national team as well. It cost Real Madrid ninety-four million euros to buy him from Manchester United.

Cristiano has scored most of the times and helped his team win several prestigious tournaments on numerous occasions. As of 2017, he is the fastest player to score penalty goals in UEFA Champions League and is Real Madrid's lead scorer.

Cristiano is the winner of Ballon d'Or, Silver Boot, FIFA World Player of the Year, Bravo Award, World Soccer Player of the Year, and much more. He is the first player to don the Portuguese jersey the most number of times. In 2016 and 2017, Forbes ranked him first in their list of world's highest-paid athlete.

Cristiano is the owner of a boutique shop named CR7. He has helped design socks and underwear as well. Cristiano has also financed some of his fans' treatments. He even donated and helped the hospital which cured his mother of cancer set up the disease's center. Cristiano hasn't tattooed his body because he is a regular blood donor.
