Due to his mother, he was fascinated towards films and television. He told his father that after finishing school, he wants to go to Hollywood. He was 15 years old when his parents separated and he moved to Seattle along with his mother.

Adam got a job as a DJ at a local radio station and then enrolled at Stanford for post-graduation courses. From there, he was sent into Army. There he served on the American Forces Network Television as an announcer. After his discharge, he indulged himself in several jobs before pursuing his career in television. He was offered a role in the children’s program, ‘El Kini Popo Show’. After this, he became quite popular among kids and adults. He caught the attention of a Hollywood agent and he invited him to give a screen test in Warner Bros. studio. After auditions, he was selected and offered a contract and he moved to Hollywood. He adopted the stage name Adam West before making his debut in the 1959 drama feature film ‘The Young Philadelphians’.

Throughout the 1960s, he enjoyed many supporting parts in television and films. In 1961, he played the role of Sergeant Steve Nelson in the hit TV series ‘The Detectives’. His most notable film project was the ‘Three Stooges’. He also acted in the Western spoof ‘The Outlaws is Coming’ (1965).
