A story of life, adventure, and hope; this movie is based on the best seller by Yann Martel. Largely set up on a wrecked ship’s lifeboat, this story is that of a boy who is stranded with a Bengal tiger all alone. It is amazing how the director unfolds it starting from scratch. What all can happen, in the middle of an ocean, with one boy and his tiger friend? Not much to picturize. However, the director lets you play with imagination, as in James Cameron’s Avatar.

A giant whale leaping and jump-crossing the boat, long distant, beautiful islands, most importantly, the boy’s hopes and his bond with the tiger, is what pushes the film ahead, and keeps viewers engaged . This is a one man show for Suraj Sharma and he rocks it. Irrfan Khan and Tabu can also be seen in a few scenes. Director Ang Lee has done a fairly good job in this one. Look out and don’t miss this one!
