PS Ramakrishna Rao was a Telugu director who was a doyen of directors of his time. He was born on 12 October 1918, in Kurnool in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. He was married to the veteran actress Bhanumathi Ramakrishna, and had a son by the name Bharani Kumar. He was also a screenwriter and producer. He produced movies under the banner of ‘Bharani Pictures’ named after his son. He died on 7 September, 1986, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, at the age of 67.
