Plot
Pinaki is a manhole cleaner. He meets a vegetable seller, Mariyam, in a train journey, and falls in love with her. Her disappearance makes him search for her, which puts him on a path to learning the harsh truth. To get in contact with her, he fabricates a story that her father stole his mother’s jewel. Later, he finds out the truth that she was sold to a man for Rs 15k. What happened next? Was she saved?
Star Performance
Sanjay Bishnoi’s performance is mind-blowing. Eshita is impressive in her role. She is confident in her expressions. Her chemistry with Sanjay is excellent.
Analysis
The screenplay is confusing and makes the story disjointed. The concept is good, but the attempt to address the social issues doesn’t work. The direction is weak, making the audience lose their interest. The story is engaging in a few places. The screenplay made the performances look a bit dull. It should’ve been crisper, making the audience need a few more trimmed scenes. The runtime is the biggest plus. The locations look good and genuine. Caste discrimination, poverty, and the exploitation of women are dealt with in this film, but not clearly. Many themes were underdeveloped, and the narration lacks clarity.
