Plot
The story is based on the real-life murder of a Japanese girl, Junko Furuta. She was kidnapped and tortured for almost 45 days. Why did the boys do such a thing? How ill the police find out about her?
Star Performance
It requires a lot of courage to act in such roles but all the actors did a good job. The four boys make the audience’s blood boil which tells that they are fine actors. Neelam connected with the audience through her acting and made them think about the real story and what is wrong with society nowadays.
Analysis
The movie was raw, honest, and violent but this is necessary to show people how horrific the outside world is. Seeing the torture Junko goes through, it makes us question whether humanity exists or not. This movie also shows us what made the four boys commit such a gruesome act.
What’s There?
• It tells two sides of the story. One about the victim and the other about the assailants.
What’s Not There?
• Instead of showing the torture scenes, they show the closeup of their faces. There might be better ways to show such scenes.
Verdict
This movie might not be for everyone and definitely not for the weak-hearted. But this movie is recommended for people who want to know the real story of Junko.
