Sushmita Rana, full name Sushmita Kumari Rana, is an Actress in the Rajasthani Film Industry. She is the daughter of the retired deputy commissioner officer Rajendra Rana, and her mother is Gita Devi. She has two elder brothers, Devashish Rana and Jyotiranjan, who work as Engineers. Her hometown is in Vanshilal Chowk, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. She studied at St. Xavier's School and Mt. Carmel School in Hazaribagh. Sushmita Rana did her Engineering in Computer Science. After that, she worked as a Software Engineer at Cognizant for about three years.Â
Sushmita Rana's love for theatre led her to Mumbai, where she learnt this art form under Nadira Babbar's guidance and Ekjute Theatre Group. She won the Best Actress Award for her work in Aata, directed by Hemant C. Ravi, at the Rajasthan Film Festival held on 30 March 2022 in Jodhpur. She is also known for her work in Shoot to Saltara (2021) as Komal, Subhagi (2022), Altar (2021), and The House (2023). She is also an Author and has written her poetry collection, Ishq Ke Kalam Se, under BookLeaf Publishing, headquartered in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.
