Jitendra Tomkyal

Jitendra Tomkyal is an Indian singer, songwriter, and musical producer who predominantly works in the Hindi music industry. He was born on 1 February 1987 in the small village of Munsyari in Pithoragarh, Uttar Pradesh. Jitendra Tomkyal’s father's name is Gopal Singh Tomkyal, and his mother's name is Udima Devi. Jitendra Tomkyal's musical journey was heavily inspired by the love he held for his parents and his hometown and its traditions. He spent most of his childhood in the village and also completed his elementary schooling at a local school by the name of Shishu Mandir.

Jitendra Tomkyal later attended Government Inter College, progressing steadily through his academic years. After completing his twelfth grade, Jitendra ventured to Pithoragarh for higher studies, enrolling in a Bachelor of Arts program. He has also studied at LSMPG College Pithoragarh, Uttrakhand. In 2012, Jitendra Tomkyal decided to get married to Bhavana Tomkyal, and together, the couple have a son named Tanu. Jitendra Tomkyal was interested in music from a young age. As a child, his father was always humming Pahari songs.

Jitendra Tomkyal’s interest in these tunes soon evolved into a full-fledged pursuit. He initially began his musical training by taking his first lessons under the guidance of his father. This familial bond and early exposure to the traditional music helped kick start his career as a folk singer. Jitendra Tomkyal made his debut as a singer in 2007 with his first album, ‘Mera Dil Ma,’ which was produced by Vaishno Production. The release was well received by the public and helped him make an impression in the industry. Following this introduction, Jitendra Tomkyal went on to release several albums, including notable ones like ‘Tera Pyaar Ma’ and ‘Dali Ke Gulab.’ 

The widespread acclaim for his work reached its pinnacle with the release of the famous album ‘Bandh Bimla’ in 2014. Since then, his songs have become a staple in households across Uttarakhand and have stolen the hearts of his local community. Jitendra Tomkyal is also known for his live performances on stages and events across the country and internationally. The singer also has a vibrant social media presence and often makes content such as reels and short videos with other performers and celebrities for different musical topics and promotions. This content has also significantly contributed to his popularity.
