Rosario Alfred Fernandes, also known as Alfred Rose, was an Indian singer, composer, and actor. He was one of the most popular singers and composers of Konkani songs in the cantaram category. He was born on August 5, 1932, in a village called Lankdem–Carona in the Konkan region. Rosario Alfred Rose was born to a tiatrist father, A.M.B. Rose (Ambrose Fernandes), and a tiatrist mother. His mother's name is Dolarosa Fernandes. He was the youngest artist when he made his theatrical debut in 1943 at the age of 11 years. Alfred Rose chose this name for himself in 1950. Later, he married Rita Rose in 1968 and had three children: Schubert, Englebert, and daughter Alria.

The HMV recording company labeled Alfred Rose "the man with the golden voice." He was so gifted that he wrote at least 5,000 songs independently. Additionally, he had his band, the Rosebuds Swing Band, which performed numerous musical productions in a few different nations worldwide. He became most recognizable to Konkani music fans worldwide by wearing his signature Panama hat and holding a magic wand. He performed in theatres and was featured in the well-known Amchem Noxib and Sukhachem Sopon, two 1963 Konkani films. He wrote the music, the lyrics, and the song for the 1975 film Bogllant, which he also acted in.

His first theatrical production, "Hench Tem Karan," which he also produced and directed, was in 1956, and he has subsequently worked on many plays. The idea of non-stop drama is said to have been initially introduced by Alfred Rose in his 1961 play "Director Saib," according to some. He hosted the first Goan Konkani show on Doordarshan in the 1980s and 1990s. He composed, produced, wrote the lyrics for, and released the first Konkani song. He sang a few English songs in addition to authoring songs in Konkani, the first of which was "Flower." Alfred Rose died on October 21, 2003.
