Begum Khurshid Mirza was an actress from India in the pre-partition era. She was born in 1918 in Aligarh to Sheikh Abdullah and Waheed Jahan Begum. Her father, Sheikh Abdullah was the legendary education reformist for women, he founded the Women’s College, Aligarh, where Begum Khurshid herself completed her education from. Begum Khurshid was extremely lucky to be born in the best family possible, as both her parents were not only loving their daughter much but also let her choose her own career as Sheikh Abdullah was a very well known liberal. Upon graduating, Begum Khurshid decided to leave Aligarh for Mumbai, as she had set her sights on acting. She moved to Mumbai, looking for work and immediately started working for Bombay Talkies.

Haseena Moin born on November 20, 1941, in Kanpur, United Provinces, British India, was a Pakistani dramatist, playwright, and scriptwriter. She has penned several dramas for stage, radio, and television. She graduated from the Government College for Women in 1960 and pursued her Master of Arts in History from Karachi University in the year 1963. She explored her potential in writing during her school days and she got the chance to write a weekly column by the title of BHAI JAN for a local journal. Her passion for writing continued and she wrote plays for Radio Pakistan Karachi's "Studio Number 9".

Roohi Bano was born on 10th August 1951 in Karachi, Pakistan. She was a renowned Pakistani actress for her roles in television dramas. She was known for her roles in television dramas such as Kiran Kahani, Zard Gulab, and Darwaza. Along with Tahira Naqvi, Khalida Riyasat, and Uzma Gillani, she dominated Pakistani television starting in the 1970s.  Because of her portrayals of melancholy and pessimism in dramas and movies, she was dubbed the Queen of Melancholy. Roohi Bano was the daughter of Alla Rakha, a noted player of India and half-sister of Indian music virtuoso Ustad Zakir Hussain. She joined television while doing her master’s degree in psychology from the Government College, Lahore. She had memorable roles in several well-known TV series, including Zard Gulab, Darwaza, and Kiran Kahani (1973). In 1981, the President of Pakistan presented her with the Pride of Performance award.

Qazi Wajid, a famous veteran Pakistani actor was born on 26 May 1930 in Lahore in Punjab of Pakistan. His popularity is totally apt because as a personality he has been part of Pakistani show business industry for 48 years. Qazi’s career began when he worked in Radio Pakistan in job profile of radio presenter and after working there for long 25 years he retired and started working as an actor.


His performances were highly appreciated and in 1988 he received the prestigious Pride of Performance Award. He has acted in several highly popular dramas, such as Hawwa Ki Beti and Khuda Ki Basti. He is active in the industry since 1956 and had become a star personality in the industry with the aura around him. He is very popular in serials and also as a global artist working often in USA.


His major and most famous project is Khuda Ki Basti which was based on the Shaukat Siddiqui’s novel with same title. It made TRP records in Pakistan, Sotayli about a woman who becomes a stepmother, when she marries her best friend’s husband,  Shezorim and it telecasted on PTV which starred Neelofar Abbasi and Shakil, Pal Do Pal a family drama, Shama based on family issues between husband wife, Hawaain based on journey of an ambitious lady etc.


The various shows he had also worked in are Bechain, Kinara Mil Gaya Hota, Yeh Kaisi Mohabbat Hai a romantic story of lovers, Tanhaiyaan based on a sad love story, Mirza Ghalib Bunder Road Par (a hit serial on PTV telecasted in year 2000), Bebak based on lawyer, Khala Khairan based on a lady of same name who is hired to help a family to drive some tenants out of their house, Woh Rishtey Woh Naatay based on family and relations, Tumhain Kuch Yaad Hai Jana, Operation Dwarka 1965 based on real operation done by Pakistan navy for attacking Dwarka in 1965, Parchaiyan that aired on ARY Digital and also as Mera Saaya in India on Zee Zindagi based on life of Sauleha who gets pregnant in age of 50 and faces criticism from his family and society. He is an inspiration to youth and upcoming new talent.

Jamshed Ansari, son of the famous business tycoon Zamir Hasan Ansari was a renowned TV & film actor in the Pakistani Film Industry. He was born on 31 December 1942 in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. In 1948, Jamshed moved to Pakistan with his family. Films were not only the medium of entertainment but also the medium of learning & constructing minds. So keeping this in mind, Jamshed wanted to become an actor from childhood. When he was eighteen years old, he moved to London to complete his television production courses. He worked in various theatrical shows & with the BBC Production House also. In 1968, Jamshed returned to Pakistan to launch his acting career. He started his journey in 1968 with Jharokhey, a Lahore theatrical drama.
