2. Swati Chitnis

Swati Chitnis has been a part of both Hindi entertainment industry and Marathi entertainment industry for decades. She entered the acting industry when she was bright and young, and even though she is not young anymore, she still holds a spot in the industry.


She has been casted in many movies, such as Road to Sangam (2010) and Rajjo (2013). She played a supporting role in both of the movies, but due to her acting skills, her presence was felt on the screen. 

As of late Swati Chitnis has been seen in a TV arrangement, named Sasural Simar Ka (25 April 2011 – Present), aired on Colors TV. The serial spins around two young ladies belonging to a middle class family, who are supposed to wed two siblings, yet because of some unforeseen happenings both the young ladies wed divorced grooms. In the serial, Swati played the character Shoba.


Swati had a supporting character to play, yet her fans still appreciated her work because of her eagerness to try her hardest without fail. In a meeting she said, "No work is huge or little, it is your brain that makes it little or enormous.”


The reason why fans love her is because of her loving personality. She can adapt to any character she is given and show the best of her skills when she performs. Even though her acting career has up’s and down’s, and she took some long breaks before appearing again in the industry but still she managed to hold her place as she appeared again in a list of new movies and in a TV series.

3. Shivani Surve

Shivani Surve, is a leading Marathi and Hindi Television actress who is best known playing roles of the ideal ‘bahu’ and ‘beti’. She started her career as a model and auditioned for the top Marathi TV serials, when she got her first major break in the Marathi serial ‘Devyani’. She played the role of the protagonist, Devyani in this serial and her petite and convincing appearance, turned out to be a show stealer. Shivani rose to fame with this role and within a few months of Devyani managed to bag another serial ‘Anamika’ where she played the role of Chhavi. ‘Chhavi’ was a part of the supporting cast, but her promising throw of dialogues and mature acting was loved by the audience.


Before appearing in the Marathi serials launched by Star Pravah, Shivani also tried her hand in Hindi serials. In 2011 she first appeared in the Hindi serial Navya, as Nimisha, the sister of the male protagonist. ‘Navya’ was the story of a modern girl, who came through and yet meted out the huge obstacles in career and married life. Here, even though she did not manage to bag the leading role, yet, her performance was extremely remarkable. Right after that, she also appeared in ‘Phulwa’, popular serial in Colors. Here, she played the role of Phulwa, the female lead’s elder sister.


Throughout the last two years, Shivani has worked extremely hard to establish herself in the Hindi and Marathi Tv industry. Currently she is working in a popular Marathi serial called ‘Sundar majhe Ghar’. This serial is a family drama and she plays the role of an ideal wife here.

4. Shreejit Marathe

Shreejit Marathe is originally from the Konkan region. He did his education in Jamsande, Devgad. He was a student at Kelkar College. He was fond of acting from the beginning. While in college, he did several one-act plays for youth festivals. His one-act play ‘Chitrakathi’ won many awards. After graduation, Shreejit came to Mumbai and got a replacement in the play ‘Locha Jhale Re.’ He also acted in the drama ‘Chal Ishq Kar Le.’ Then he gave an interview for the news channel Star Mazha and later became an anchor on the track. He won the Mata Samman Award for best news anchor in his first year. Shreejit, who was originally interested in acting, left the job at Star Mazha and had no work for seven or eight months. Still, his efforts paid off as he got the serials Dharmakanya and Kalai Tasmai Namah. Then, he also acted in the drama ‘Mahasaagar’ directed by Nenna Kulkarni.
